CCBE is looking for a PECO intern

The Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) who represents the bars and law societies of 32 member countries and 13 further associate and observer countries, and through them more than 1 million European lawyers, is currently seeking to recruit a PECO Intern starting 3 November 2014 until 30  April 2015.

The PECO Intern will assist the PECO committee which is looking at the development of the legal profession in Central and Eastern Europe.

The successful candidate should have:

  • the ability to understand and appreciate the interests of the legal profession in Europe, with a background in law
  • a good knowledge of EU law and EU institutions
  • a working knowledge of French and English; Russian is an asset
  • good written and oral communication skills
  • computer literacy
  • a valid working permit

The contract is a Belgian “contrat d'immersion professionnelle” and the monthly salary is 751 € net. The position requires a valid working permit for Belgium.

At the request of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (the « Mechanism »), ISLP-Europe (“ISLP”) will establish a team of experienced and impartial Monitors comprising up to three Monitors for each case who will be available for rapid recruitment and deployment. [+]
