Which Member States of the European Union and the European Economic Area have implemented the Directive 98/5/EC?

The CCBE has prepared a table on the stage of implementation within the different States. This table is updated on a regular basis.
 

What is the deadline to implement the Directive 98/5/EC into national law in the European Union Member States?

The Member States were expected to implement the Directive before March 14th, 2000, at the latest.
 

Was the Directive 98/5/EC unanimously accepted by the EU Member States?

No.
The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg instituted nullification appeal of the Directive. The proceedings was rejected by the Court of Justice of the European Communities. The Directive was therefore considered as valid by the decision made on November 7th, 2000 (C-168/98).
 

Is it possible to obtain the national texts of implementation of the Directive 98/5/EC?

Yes.
Most texts are available in original version on the CCBE web site, in the table on the stage of implementation.
 

Are there translations of national texts of implementation?

Yes.
