The voice of European lawyers

First AI Summit organised by the European Judicial Training Network

The CCBE, represented by CCBE Senior Legal Advisor Anna Drozd and CCBE Representative, Maaike Bomers, took part in the first AI Summit organised by the European Judicial Training Network in Riga.

The Summit brought together judges, prosecutors, court staff, international organisations, judicial networks, and other justice stakeholders to explore AI from legal, ethical, technological, and organisational perspectives in a multidisciplinary learning environment. The Summit helped to map AI training initiatives, identify gaps, and strengthen cooperation in order to advance a more coordinated European approach to AI training.

In her contribution, Anna Drozd shared the CCBE’s reflections on the use of AI by lawyers and its impact on their professional obligations. She also emphasised the importance of analysing the context in which AI will be used and the evolving role of legal professionals, as well as the necessity of continuous training.
