On 8–9 September 2026, the CCBE, represented by Legal Advisor Anna-Maria Petroulaki, attended the 53rd meeting of the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice Working Group on the Evaluation of Judicial Systems (CEPEJ-GT-EVAL) in Strasbourg.
The Working Group advanced preparations for the 2026 CEPEJ Evaluation Report on European judicial systems, based on 2025 data, reviewing draft chapters on judicial budgets, justice professionals — including lawyers — access to justice, efficiency and information and communication technologies (ICT), with particular attention to data comparability and transparency.
Discussions also covered the future evaluation cycle, a thematic report on ICT, and cooperation with other CEPEJ working groups and the European Commission.
This work is particularly relevant to the CCBE’s activities. The CCBE was pleased to contribute to these valuable exchanges and look forward to following the next steps towards the finalisation of the 2026 CEPEJ Evaluation Report.
