From 28 to 31 October, the CCBE President Roman Završek participated at the 70th UIA Union Internationale des Avocats Congress in Marrakech.

He took part in the International Bar Leaders’ Senate, a session with legal profession leaders from around the world to discuss “AI, the Rule of Law and the Legal Profession”.

His contribution presented the CCBE’s reflections on how can lawyers integrate AI responsibly while preserving professional secrecy, independent judgement and the quality of legal services. The discussion focused on the challenges of technological sovereignty, continuous skills development and meaningful human oversight, as well as confidentiality and cyber security.

The event offered valuable insights on how lawyers can benefit from greater efficiency while preserving the quality of legal services and safeguarding fundamental professional values.

The CCBE was pleased to take part in the Congress throughout the week, meeting leaders of the legal profession from around the world and exchanging views on some of the most pressing issues shaping the future of the profession.
