The voice of European lawyers

Celebrating 143 years of organised advocacy in Bosnia and Herzegovina

On 12 September 2026, CCBE President Roman Završek joined colleagues in Mostar for the Days of Advocacy, organised by the Bar Association of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH).

Marking 143 years of organised advocacy and legal tradition, the assembly offered an opportunity to recognise the long-standing contribution of lawyers in Bosnia and Herzegovina to the rule of law, access to justice, and public trust. In his address, President Završek underlined that an independent legal profession remains an essential link between citizens, justice, and democratic institutions.

As Bosnia and Herzegovina continues on its European path, he also highlighted the vital role of lawyers in ensuring that legal harmonisation is effective while remaining respectful of national legal traditions.

The CCBE was pleased to join one of its member Bars for this important annual gathering and for valuable exchanges on the future of the legal profession.
